On Monday, March 5th, come out to hear Messiah History alum Matt Bucher share his first-hand experience in Egypt. Surrounding this current event are many questions such as: Why did the protests in Liberation Square succeed in forcing Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s abdication? How did the faith of religious groups like the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Muslim Brotherhood affect their involvement in the uprising? What can peacebuilders, especially those interested in faith-based peacebuilding, learn from these demonstrations and apply to their own situation? Matt will be tackling these and other tough questions at this chapel — an event you will not want to miss!
Here are the details in short:
When: Monday March 5th, 4:00-5:00 PM
Where: Boyer 131
What: Alternate Chapel and Lecture sponsored by the Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) program
Hope to see you there!
If you have any questions about this event, please contact Anne Marie Stoner-Eby (PACS Coordinator) or Victoria Falkner (PACS work-study).
BTW, Matt Bucher is the Messiah alum who was recently featured on the Messiah College home page!
