The Graduate Program in American Studies at Rutgers-Newark will hold an open house Wednesday, February 9, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at 243 Conklin Hall for all who are interested in applying to study for the Master of Arts in American Studies. The program emphasizes the study of race and ethnicity, urban cultures, women and gender; the United State in a global context; cultural history and artistic production; and the operations of social institutions. We welcome full-time and part-time students and those with an interest in public humanities. The program awards a Grover fellowship of $10,000 a year for two years to a student interested in the history of Newark.
