National Sports Academy, a coeducational boarding and day school serving grades 9-12, plus a postgraduate year, is seeking an instructor of history for the 2012-2013 academic year. The successful candidate will be a passionate, knowledgeable teacher with a great love of history. A bachelor’s degree in European history, American history, political science or a related field is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong knowledge of American history and have experience teaching adolescents (strongly preferred). The successful candidate will be able to cover, with ease, any high school course in history, from world history to AP US History.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, expectations include serving as part of a weeknight and weekend resident or non-resident dorm duty team and as a student advisor. Candidates with the ability to serve as an assistant coach in our hockey or Alpine programs should list their qualifications on their resume.
Salary is commensurate with experience, and housing may be available.
