Teaching Job: Vermont Academy

Vermont Academy seeks a full-time History Instructor beginning in the 2012-2013. Candidates must have a strong background in World History but should also be prepared to teach a section of United States History, as well. Experience teaching international students or English language learners is highly desirable, as is the ability to offer electives in Asian (especially Chinese) and/or African history. An advanced degree and 3-5 years teaching experience are also preferred. The candidate who fills this position will join a highly collaborative department with strong interests in pedagogy and curriculum reform, and should be willing to become an enthusiastic contributing member to the group. The position includes all of the standard responsibilities of teaching at a boarding school, including coaching or leading activities, serving as a dorm parent, and advising a group of 5-7 students.
