“Blacks and Indians: An American Story” Tonight, November 8, 7:00pm

Are you interested in Native American history or African American history?  Will you be taking Dr. LaGrand’s African American history course next semester?  Are you one of those people who just can’t get enough American history?  Do you need chapel credits?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you may want to consider this event tonight:

Interested students are encouraged to come out for a showing of the documentary film “Black Indians: An American Story” tomorrow (Thurs., Nov. 8) at 7:00 pm in Frey 110.  The film tells the little-known story of people with mixed African American and Native American lineage in American history, and some of the challenges they’ve faced.  It touches on many interesting themes relating to identity and reconciliation.  Professor LaGrand will introduce it and lead a time of Q&A following.  The event counts for alternate chapel credit, and is co-sponsored by the Black Student Union and the Multicultural Council.
