As many of you already know, every year Messiah College hosts a regional round of the National History Day competition. On March 2, 2013, hundreds of middle school and high school students from Cumberland, Adams, Franklin, Perry, Dauphin, and Fulton counties will converge on our campus to vie for positions in the Pennsylvania state competition and a possible trip to the National History Day Finals.
It has been a longstanding tradition that Messiah College history majors join members from the regional history community as judges for the competition. No experience is necessary to be a judge. Whether you are a first-year student or a senior we are asking you to devote part of your day on March 2 to serving the community and representing the Messiah College History Department at this great event. By the way–it also looks very good on your resumes! Oh, and I almost forgot–free lunch will be provided for all judges!
A lot of our history alumni come back to judge for this event and it is a wonderful opportunity to meet former history majors and do some networking.
If you have not done so already, please sign-up with Dr. LaGrand (email@example.com) or Shirley Groff (firstname.lastname@example.org).
We are all looking forward to great day on Saturday, March 2! See you there.
