Elizabeth Kay (Messiah History ’10) Lands Prestigious Internship with the Smithsonian

KayWe just got word that one of our former history majors, Liz Kay (’10), has been appointed an intern with the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition Service.  Her work will focus on the Museums on Main Street Program.

Liz writes:

As part of the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition Service, the Museums on Main Street Program seeks to bring exhibits to smaller towns that might not normally have the resources to host a Smithsonian exhibition. Local museums partner with other community organizations and their State Humanities Council to develop additional programming to complement the exhibit, creating opportunities for community building and dialogue.

My role as intern will be to assist in the research and development of exhibits that are in the concept stage, as well as to help prepare existing exhibits for travel.

Liz is currently enrolled in the M.A. in Museum Studies program at George Washington University in Washington D.C.

Congratulations, Liz!
